Since the day PM Irakli Kobakhidze announced the halt of Georgia’s EU accession, not a single night has passed without citizens blocking Rustaveli Avenue: standing for democracy, freedom, and European future.

In these turbulent times, when repressive laws target independent media and civil society, when dozens of new bills restrict free expression, and when more than a hundred political prisoners remain behind bars, we’ve decided to do what we do best: explain.

In a world flooded with headlines, Georgia rarely makes it into the news unless hundreds of thousands fill the streets, and even then, the coverage is fragmented, stripped of context, and often misunderstood.

We’ll bring you verified, fact-checked reporting and clear, accessible analysis of what’s really happening behind the scenes: the people, the power, the resistance.

Every Monday, we’ll deliver 6-10 stories that shaped the week: unpacked, contextualized, and explained.

Each issue will help journalists, policymakers, opinion-makers, and curious readers see the bigger picture, zoom out, and truly understand Georgia.

Because of the new legislations adopted by the Georgian Dream, most independent media outlets have been pushed into financial crisis and are now fighting for survival.
